Responsible for overseeing internal operations of an eighty employee biochemical manufacturing company. Facillitated addition of equipment, personnel and internal systems to modernize company. Improved productivity and efficiency of operation to more than double sales in first 8 years of employment.





PROGRAM DIRECTOR/CULTURAL ARTS DIRECTOR

Stroum Jewish Community Center (JCC)
of Greater Seattle, Mercer Island, Wa, '88-'92

Responsible for all programming in fine arts, dance, music and theatre. Supervised Mature Adult Services Director and Youth/Camp Director. Coordinated Cultural Arts Committee and Theatre Sub-committee.

Founder and Producing/Artistic Director of "Center Stage," a professional equity theatre (Small Professional Theatre Contract; Actors' Equity Association); Supervised all aspects of productions; Hired guest directors, actors, designers and technical personnel; Executed contracts with Actors' Equity Association; Directed some of the productions.

Responsible for all departmental fiscal and project budgets, receivables, payables and payroll. Wrote all grant proposals. Planned and coordinated fundraising campaigns and events. Coordinated equipment purchases. Implemented and supervised box office. Created and implemented marketing plan. Supervised group sales. Coordinated ad and flyer trades with other theatres. Contacted media for interviews and features. Supervised the design and production of brochures, flyers, posters and advertising. Supervised content and production of playbills. Supervised solicitation of program advertising. Worked closely with the JCC Communications, Customer Service, Computer Operations and Custodial departments in support of all arts programs.

Founded and Supervised the JCC Youth Theatre and Theatre Camp. Hired teachers and supervised classes in art, dance, music, and theatre for all ages; Developed curriculum.

Procured 6-8 art exhibits per year for the JCC's gallery; Coordinated opening receptions; Administered sales of art work. Coordinated some of the JCC's community-wide special events involving the entire JCC staff, a corps of volunteers, and other community organizations in holiday programs with attendance of up to 1,000 people; Supervised food, entertainment, crafts booths and special activities.






ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Lakewood Little Theatre
Beck Center for the Cultural Arts, Cleveland, Oh, '86-'88.

Produced a 12 play season of musicals, dramas and comedies in a 500 seat proscenium theatre and a 100 seat black box theatre; Hired and supervised guest directors, designers and technicians; Coordinated all aspects of production; Directed six plays annually.

Responsible for total budget of the theatre. Worked closely with Publicity and Marketing departments. Supervised content and production of a 40 page playbill for eight mainstage productions annually. Worked closely with play selection committee.

Directed Adult Theatre Education; Hired and supervised teachers; Developed curriculum. Spoke to community groups about Beck Center's programs.





CULTURAL AND PERFORMING ARTS DIRECTOR

Jewish Community Center of Dallas
Dallas, Tx, '84-'86.

Responsible for all programming in fine arts, dance, music and theatre.

Directed a community theatre program that performed a season of musicals, comedies and dramas and "The Performing Arts Camp"; a summer theatre experience for 3-9th graders involving rehearsal and performance of a production and theatre arts classes. Directed plays. Supervised all aspects of the productions and the camp.

Responsible for fiscal and project budgets for all departmental programs. Executed contracts, receivables, payables & payroll. Supervised Youth Theatre director and other part-time staff. Worked closely with the JCC Communications, Customer Service, Computer Operations & Custodial departments in support of all arts programs. Executed contracts with designers, technical personnel and teachers. Created and implemented marketing plan. Contacted media for interviews and features. Supervised the design and production of brochures, flyers and playbills.

Collaborated with other organizations to present lectures. Coordinated a committee of Rabbis and Holocaust survivors for the annual Holocaust Remembrance program; Wrote and directed program.





MANAGER/STAGE MANAGER

Lakewood Civic Auditorium
Lakewood Board of Education, Cleveland, Oh, '80-'82.

Managed and supervised a 2,000 seat auditorium.

Responsible for budgets, technical direction and public relations. Stage managed events and trained crews. Coordinated all equipment purchases. Responsible for upkeep of facility. Executed all technical (lights, sound and stage hardware) set-ups. Trained and supervised stage crews for numerous rentals, among others, The Cleveland Orchestra concerts, Singing Angels, Phillipine Folk Dancers, Cleveland Civic Opera, The Clancy Brothers, and the Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival.
