Sabrina Bauman (Attendant/Royal
Singer – The King and I) will be entering
the 8th grade at Sacred Heart of Jesus Academy and is thrilled to be make
her HBTI debut. Recent credits include Ms. TeaVee in Willy
Wonka. When not on stage Sabrina is active in her school
choir, chime choir, is co-editor of her school newspaper, takes guitar
lessons, and is a member of South Euclid/Lyndhurst Seamonkeys swim team.
Favorite pastimes include reading, singing and spending time with her
friends and family! Sabrina would like to thank the staff at HBTI for
this opportunity, and a special thank you to her family for their love
and support and for always seeing the “music” in her.
Jamie R. Benetto (Production Manager
- The King and I) spent eight years working
as an acting instructor for James Dance and Performing Arts Center and
the last three years working with the Youth Theater at the Beck Center
for the Arts and Fairmount Performing Arts Conservatory. In addition she
has served as a child supervisor on several area professional productions
at The Cleveland Play House and Great Lakes Theater. Jamie has also worked
at The Cleveland Play House off and on since 2002 as a production assistant,
stage coordinator and crew member. She has worked on over 30 CPH mainstage
productions, including Lost Highway, Rabbit Hole, Vincent
in Brixton, Pride and Prejudice, A Christmas Story, Dream a Little Dream,
Crowns and, most recently, Bell Book and Candle.
Other area credits include Ntozake Shange’s Why I had
to Dance at Oberlin College and Idea Center, The
Sound of Music and Annie at Carousel
Dinner Theatre, The Secret Garden at Cain Park,
and Into the Woods and The Seagull at Great
Lakes Theater.
Jack Bistritz (Interpreter - The
King and I, General Lord Glosop - Jekyll &
Hyde) is a 9th grade student at Shaker Heights High School.
He has performed in many shows at Heights Youth Theatre, FPAC, Playmakers,
Beachwood Community Theatre and Shaker Heights. Recent credits include:
John Darling in Peter Pan at Beachwood, Flute
in MIDSUMMER!, Ton-ton Julian in Once
on this Island, and Gad in Joseph
all at HYT. Ike Skidmore in Oklahoma and Mr.
Bucket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
at Playmakers. Drake in Honk! at Shaker Middle
School, and a storyteller in Children of Eden
at FPAC. Jack would like to thank his amazing voice teacher Cynthia O'Connell,
ballet instructor Bebe Katz, piano teacher Candace Lee, and directors
Fred Sternfeld and Bob Russell for the amazing experience. Enjoy the show!
Scott C. Chapman (Scenic Design
- Jekyll & Hyde, Light Designer - The
King and I, Jekyll & Hyde)
is a native of Buffalo, NY and proud to now call Cleveland his home. Mr.
Chapman has been designing Scenery and/ or Lighting academically and professionally
for almost 10 years. He is in his 4th year as an Assistant Professor of
Theatre, and Resident Scenic and Lighting Designer at Ashland University.
Mr. Chapman recently designed Lighting for The Sound of Music
at TrueNorth. He has designed shows for Blank Canvas Theatre, the Fairmount
Performing Arts Conservatory, Cleveland Public Theatre, Blowing Rock Stage
Company in North Carolina, and Eau Claire Children’s Theatre in
Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Mr. Chapman holds a BA in Theatre Design/ Technology
from SUNY Buffalo and his MFA in Stage Design from SMU in Dallas, TX.

Christina Ciofani (Lady Thiang
- The King and I), who will be entering into
her junior year at Beaumont School, is thrilled to be a part of this exciting
production! Christina participated in the Contemporary Youth Orchestra
Chorus at Severance Hall and in the Cleveland Play House College. She
has performed in various shows at Beachwood Community Theatre, Heights
Youth Theatre, Fairmount Performing Arts Conservatory, and has been a
part of the 32nd annual Marilyn Bianchi Playwriting Festival at Dobama.
Some of her favorite roles include Penelope Pennywise in Urinetown,
Madame de la Grande Bouche in Disney's Beauty and the Beast,
Lucy in You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown,
Berthe in Pippin, and Addaperle in The
Wiz. In her spare time off-stage, she enjoys reading, writing,
playing the piano, and playing lacrosse. Christina would like to thank
her parents, her family, and everyone who worked to make this show possible
for this great and exciting opportunity.
Isabel Farr (Red Rat Pub Dancer,
Ensemble - Jekyll & Hyde) is 13 years old
and in 8th grade at Learwood Middle School in Avon Lake. She loves theatre
and being on stage! She is so excited to be a part of this fun and challenging
show and HBTI. She has performed as Samantha in The Musical
Adventures of Flat Stanley, Jr., a blind girl in The
Miracle Worker, Ensemble in Annie Get Your Gun,
and Babette and a Silly Girl in Beauty and The Beast Jr.
at TrueNorth, an Orphan in Oliver! at Mighty
Goliath Productions, and various shows with Awesome Possum Youth Theatre.
She has been Irish dancing since she was 5 years old. She is also involved
in modeling, choir, track, swim team, and youth group. She would like
to thank Bob and the production team for casting and directing her, and
her friends for always encouraging and supporting her, and her parents
for giving her the opportunities to explore her interests and strengthen
her skills to succeed.
Natalie Fischer (Royal Wife, Royal
Player - The King and I) is 14 and will be entering
9th grade at Elyria Catholic High School this fall. She started performing
in community theatre at age 5 in Mighty Goliath’s The
Music Man as well as many other shows with Mighty Goliath.
Favorite roles include: Little Girl in Ragtime,
Duffy (understudy) in Annie and Charlotte in
Oliver. She’s also performed at TrueNorth
Cultural Arts in: Blooms of Steel, Freedom’s Light,
Sara in Daddy Allen - The Easter Seals Story,
Middle School Musical, 2011 and
2012 Lorain County Jr. Idol Showcase of Talent,
Glee, The Secret Garden,
Wardrobe in Disney's Beauty and The Beast Jr.,
Charlotte in 13, The Musical and The
Miracle Worker. She has also performed in LCMT’s Joseph
and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. For the past 8 years
Natalie and her father have co-hosted Downtown Lorain’s Holiday
Lighting Ceremony. At 12 years old she wrote and directed her first show
called: Seusstory for the Little Lighthouse
Learning Center preschool in Lorain, with a goal of becoming an actress
/ director / writer on the Broadway stage. Natalie loves to sing, write,
make short films and spend time with friends. “Thank you to my family
and friends for their continued support and to Mr. Sternfeld and HBTI
for giving me the opportunity to be involved in something special.”

Kaitlyn Gabric (Princess, Royal
Dancer - The King and I) is 13 years old and
will be entering the 8th grade at Incarnate Word Academy. Kaitlyn is very
excited to be taking part in HBTI's summer production of The
King and I. Previously, she appeared in Godspell
at Independence Theatre, as Coral in Don't Stop Believin
at Incarnate Word Academy, and as the orphan July in Annie
at Brecksville Theater on the Square. Kaitlyn is currently studying Jazz
and Tap at the Cleveland Ballet Conservatory, where she had previously
studied Classical Ballet since the age of 4. Kaitlyn has performed in
many ballet performances including the Harlequin Doll in The
Nutcracker, The Ruby Slippers, Peter Pan, and Cinderella.
Kaitlyn also had a chance to perform with the Singing Angels at Playhouse
Square as well as the Cha Cha and Jive with Rebecca Sweet and Heriberto
Perez of Latin Soul Ballroom. Kaitlyn plays the piano in the Orchestra
at Incarnate Word Academy as well as the flute in Band. She has attended
many summer theater camps and continues to study piano through private
instruction. Kaitlyn works hard academically and was honored to be able
to compete successfully in several academic competitions for her school.
Kaitlyn wants to thank HBTI for this wonderful opportunity as well as
her family and friends for their ongoing support.
Maggie Gehrlein (Attendant/Royal
Player - The King and I) will be entering the
9th grade at Hathaway Brown in the fall. She has participated in Joseph
and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat as part of the children's
chorus and in The King and I as a priest, both
Heights Youth Theatre productions. Maggie plays softball and figure skates,
she enjoys cooking, painting, and sculpting. Maggie also has been a part
of her school choir. She is excited to be a part of HBTI.
Raedan Goldblum (Prince - The
King and I) is 13 and will be entering the 8th grade at
University School in the fall. He has participated as a Village in Beauty
and The Beast, Blake Powers in Murder Me Always,
and Dishwasher / Ensemble in Bye Bye Birdie
- all productions at University School. Raedan plays basketball, runs
track and plays the piano and cello. He is very excited to be a part of
this production and thanks Fred and Bob for this opportunity and his family
for supporting him.
Carlton Guc (Sound Designer -
The King and I, Jekyll & Hyde) Part of Stage Research,
developers of award winnning theatrical software for Lighting and Sound,
Carlton has designed sound for the Titanic exhibit, Dialog in the Dark
exhibit and recently assisted on the tour of Handel's Messia Rocks. He
recently designed The Sound of Music, The Fantasticks, Steel
Magnolias and Baby
at TrueNorth. For FPAC, Carlton has designed Pippin,
the Ohio premiere of Eat (It's Not About Food),
Company, Children of Eden, Honk Jr.,
Pride and Prejudice, Into
the Woods, the Ohio premiere of Thirteen,
Les Miserables: School Edition, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie,
and Big, the musical.
Jenna Elizabeth Guinan (Attendant/Royal
Player – The King and I) will be starting
the 6th grade at St. Gabriel’s School in Concord and is beyond excited
to be making her HBTI debut. Recently Jenna performed in FAA’s production
of Seussical as a “Who” and will
be in the MSS Production of 13, the musical this
Summer. When not on stage Jenna is a competitive swimmer for the Lake
Erie Silver Dolphins. Jenna loves to read, sing, act, and hang out with
her friends and family. A special “Thanks” goes to her family
for believing in her and supporting her passion for theater! Thank you
to HBTI for giving her this opportunity.
Jessica Hirsh (Wife/Angel/George/Dance
Captain - The King and I, Lady Beaconsfield
- Jekyll & Hyde) Jessica is 19 years old,
and will be a second year theatre major at The Ohio State University this
fall (Go Buckeyes). Her roles at Ohio State included Helena Landless –
The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and Train Supervisor/Journalist
– The Visit. Jessica graduated from Lawrence
Upper School in 2012, where she was a member of the drama club, choir,
and served as the secretary for both the Student Government, and the National
Honors Society. Her credits at Lawrence include Rosemary Pilkington –
How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,
Grace Farrell – Annie, Edith – Blithe

Jessica was Bonnie Boylan/Annette/Perkins (u/s Grace Farrell) –
Annie, and Lady With Babies/Napkin in Beauty
and the Beast. Jessica enjoys laser tag, eating sinful amounts
of cheese, and most of all, making people smile and laugh. Jessica wants
to thank Fred, Bob, and Bebe for all of the opportunities they have given
her, and the knowledge that they have shared with her over the past couple
of years. She so is thrilled and grateful to be spending one last summer
with these amazing people. Let’s make this count!
Lauryn Alexandria Hobbs (Tuptim
- The
King and I,
Ensemble - Jekyll
& Hyde)
is a 9th grader at Shaker Heights High School. Her most recent credits
include playing Francesca in West Side Story
at TrueNorth, Aliyah in Miracle and Wonder at
Ensemble Theater, Jasmine in University School’s production of All
The World’s A Stage, and Lorraine in Mercury Summer
Stock’s production of All Shook Up. Outside
of theatre she enjoys playing the cello in her school’s String Orchestra,
singing in the shower, and being an active member of her Girl Scout troop
152. Her favorite roles include playing the Cat in her school’s
production of Honk!, and Lily St. Regis in Heights
Youth Theatre’s production of Annie. Lauryn
is ready to throw on her dancing shoes and break a leg in this amazing
production of West Side Story.
Klara Hricik (Anna Leonowens -
The King and I, Emma Carew - Jekyll
& Hyde) Klara is thrilled to take part in Hathaway Brown
Theatre Institute’s first productions. She is 16 years old and attends
Shaker Heights High School. Klara has performed in many productions throughout
Ohio, including Jo March in Little Women at
FPAC, Jaques in As You Like It, directed by
Christine McBurney, Chloe in Legally Addicted
through Recovery Resources, Calliope in Xanadu
and many more. Klara trains in voice with Joan Ellison and ballet through
Cleveland City Dance. She is also Alto Section Leader in her school’s
Mixed A Cappella Choir and the Women’s A Cappella Ensemble. Klara
has trained in theatre movement for 2 years through her school’s
Ensemble program and is Patron Manager for Shaker’s Theatre Arts
Department. Klara would like to thank Fred, Bob and Bebe for the opportunities
they have her granted, and her family and friends for the continued support!

Weinberg Katz (Choreographer -

, B.A., M. Ed. Bebe's
recent theatrical
credits include Les Miserables: School Edition, A Little Night
Music, Big, the musical, Company,

of Eden & Thirteen
at FPAC and West Side Story, The Fantasticks
and Baby
at TrueNorth. Her
credits extend deep into the arts. She has danced, choreographed, staged,
designed, directed, taught, written and illustrated. As
an educator, Bebe has taught dance, movement education and /or fitness
and wellness to children, teens and adults in the public schools, Baldwin-Wallace
College, Cleveland State University, the Jewish Community Center, in her
own studio, in private dance studios and Camp Wise. Her dance credits
extend from Purcell’s Opera The Fairy Queen
and The Cathy Powel Dance Company in Pittsburgh to the Dancing Mimes at
DanceCleveland, as well as her own company, Center Motion at the JCC.
While holding the position of resident choreographer at Euclid High School
Bebe worked with the show choir “Varsity Choral” and choreographed
the school’s productions of The Music Man, Hello Dolly,
Anything Goes, Pajama Game, Pippin, Peter Pan, Wizard of Oz
and Grease. She currently works in both Shaker
Heights schools and Cleveland Heights / University Heights school. Bebe
is the choreographer for Shaker’s “Chanticleers,” and
Cleveland Height’s nationally ranked show choir “Singers.”
At CHHS she choreographed Beauty and the Beast, The King and
I, Fiddler on the Roof and West Side Story
as well as doing costume design for the latter two.. Bebe has production
credentials spanning the 35 years she has lived in Cleveland. She was
dance and drama specialist at Camp Wise, and performed the choreographer
duties for Mame at Chagrin Valley Little Theater,
Anything Goes at Euclid Community Theater, Joseph,
Holy Moses, Rock Pinocchio, The Grand Tour and Fiddler
on the Roof at the Cleveland JCC. She also directed The
Apple Tree for the JCC and was costume assistant for The
Wall and The Merry Widow. She
also has written and illustrated a number of books. The M.I.M.E Set, an
activity book the integrates movement and academics, and three middle
grade chapter books titled Princess Claudia and the Freckles, A Best Friend
for Claudia and Sibling Wars.
Neil Kelly (The Kralahome - The
King and I, Gabriel John Utterson - Jekyll &
Hyde) grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania and has lived
in Ohio for one full year now. His recent credits include West
Side Story at TrueNorth, Midsummer
and Beauty and the Beast at HYT, and Urinetown
and The Music Man at FPAC. Neil is an eighth
grader at Beachwood Middle School. He has just recently begun to learn
cello and is continuing on with his 9 years of piano training. Neil is
also part of the National Piano Playing Auditions and played at Carnegie
Hall in New York City in April 2011. Some of his favorite roles include
Constable Locke in The Music Man, Brett in Thirteen
the Musical, and Bobby Strong and Officer Barrel in Urinetown.

Emily Kenville (Eliza - The
King and I) is thrilled to
be in this wonderful production! Recent credits include Lavinia in A
Little Princess, Puck in Midsummer,
Ensemble in Chicago, July in Annie,
and many more. When she's not onstage, she enjoys playing the flute and
dancing at Cleveland City Dance. She would like to thank Bebe and Fred
for this great opportunity. Enjoy the show!
Camryn Koonce (Princess - The
King and I) is a 3rd grader at Roxboro Elementrary in Cleveland
Heights, Oh. She is excited to be a part of her first live theatre production
of The King and I. Camryn has dabbled in acting
and theatre through her school's musical performances where she has played
the parts of a Snowflake, a Quarter Note, and Lead Dancer. Camryn's other
interests and activities include guitar, soccer, swimming, skiing and
snowboarding, dancing, and competing in local 5K's and youth triathlons
in honor of her younger sister, Elsie, to raise money and awareness for
Cerebral Palsy. Camryn would like to thank the staff for this wonderful
opportunity, her family and friends for all their love and support, and
her Parents and Grandparents for helping her gain the confidence to be
on this stage.
John Krol (Music Director - Jekyll
& Hyde) is pleased to be involved in HBTI’s inaugural season
as an instructor and to be collaborating once again with Bob Russell as
music director for Jekyll and Hyde. John has
a Bachelor’s degree in Music and Theatre from the University of
Detroit, and Master’s in Composition from the Cleveland Institute
of Music and in Conducting from Southern Methodist University in Dallas,
Texas. He is a freelance music and theatre professional in the Cleveland
area. He teaches musical theatre, creative arts therapy, and outreach
classes at the Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood and has been musical
director for summer programs at the Beck Center and for Fairmount Center
for the Arts. He serves as music director and accompanist for many area
school and community theatres and has a small studio of musical theatre
students for whom he provides vocal coaching. In the past year John composed
music for and served as musical director for Director Michael Mauldin’s
Bollywood-inspired version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream
for the Cleveland State Department of Theatre and Dance at the Allen Theatre,
and spent the winter holiday teaming with Bob Russell for TrueNorth’s
production of The Sound of Music. In March,
with Bebe Weinberg Katz directing, he music directs The Apple
Tree at Shaker Heights Middle School and both directs and
music directs Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka
at Sacred Heart of Jesus in South Euclid, where he has been involved with
junior high productions for 20 years. In addition to working at HBTI this
summer, John will also music direct Damn Yankees
with James Mango at the Fine Arts Association, and in July Rent
with Denise Astorino for Aurora Community Theatre.
Gus Mahoney (Sir Archibald Proops/Spider - Jekyll
& Hyde) is thrilled to be apart of Jekyll
and Hyde! Gus is going to be a freshman at Shaker Heights
High School this fall. Previous credits include: Adam/ Flip in The
Apple Tree, Mr. Skipwith in the Ohio Premiere of A
Little Princess, Oberon in the premiere of the original
musical Midsummer, Ugly in Honk!,
ensemble in both Chicago and Beauty
and the Beast and Bert Healy/ Drake in Annie.
Gus also participates in two choirs and was on the original cast recording
of Midsummer the original musical. He also plays Tuba and Trombone. Gus
would like thank Bob, the cast and the production crew for all of their
hard work and support.
Charles Miller (Phra Alack - The
King and I, The Bishop of Basingstoke
- Jekyll
& Hyde) is in the 9th grade
at Shaker Heights High School. He is very excited to make his debut at
HBTI. He has been in numerous shows all around Cleveland. His most recent
ones are Anxious in West Side Story at TrueNorth, Pasko in A
Little Princess, Ensemble in Midsummer,
Hot Blades Harry/Old Man Strong in Urinetown,
Malcolm in 13, and many more. While he is not
on stage he likes playing his clarinet in the highest band at the High
School and playing with the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony. He would like
to thank Fred and Bebe for this amazing opportunity. See you at the show!
Govanna Miller (Red Rat Pub Dancer, Ensemble - Jekyll
& Hyde) is in 11th grade at Lakeridge Academy. She is
very excited to appear in Jekyll and Hyde this
summer at HBTI. She has been in shows at Heights Youth Theater, Fairmount
Performing Arts Conservatory, Olmsted Performing Arts, the Beck Center,
and Lakeridge's school shows. Some of her most recent performances were
Titania in Midsummer, Hunyak/ Mary Sunshine
in Chicago, Thetis in Xanadu,
Clarissa in Little Women, Ensemble in Les
Miserables, Wolf/ Enchanted Knife/ Villager in Beauty
and the Beast, and many others. She would like to thank
her mother for providing her with such oppurtunities, Melanie and Uncle
Pat for supporting her, and the directors, cast, and crew of Jekyll
& Hyde for making this show an amazing one.
Lauren Montana (Royal Wife/Royal
Dancer - The King and I, Nellie/Dance Captain
- Jekyll & Hyde) is thrilled to be a part
of HBTI's inaugural summer season! She has been acting since 8th grade
and couldn't imagine doing anything else. Going into her senior year at
Twinsburg High School, Lauren has been involved in her school's Drama
Club since freshman year, appearing as Kate in Man of Stone
and Verna in Waiting on Trains, as well as helping
backstage in other shows. She is also heavily involved in the Twinsburg
Community Theatre and has been seen as Indian Maiden / Dancer in Peter
Pan and Ensemble / Choreographer in The Music
Man. Last summer, she played Josephine "Ma" Strong
in the Fairmount Performing Arts Conservatory's production of Urinetown.
When she isn't onstage, Lauren plays violin in her school's orchestra,
is secretary of her school's National Honors Society, and participates
in the youth group at St. Rita's Church in Solon. She enjoys reading,
laughing, and watching copious amounts of TV on Netflix. She is also entering
her 12th year of tap and ballet at Sharron's School of Dance in Twinsburg.
Lauren would like to thank her unbelievably supportive family and friends,
Fred, Bob, Bebe, John, and everyone else involved that made these shows
so wonderful. Enjoy the show!
Ella Murray (Princess, Royal Singer
- The King and I) is a 5th grader at St. Rita
School in Solon, Oh. She is thrilled to be a part of this amazing production
of The King and I. Ella started her acting career
in the first grade at the age of 6. She has been cast in 7 productions
over the past 4 years. Her most recent roles include Kate in Annie
and Amyrillis in The Music Man both at Twinsburg
Theater and The Mayor of Munchkin Land in The Wizard of Oz
at Beachwood Theater. Other productions include Willy Wonka
Jr., Peter Pan and Aladdin. Ella
was also selected to sing the National Anthem for The Lake County Captains.
Ella also sings in the Youth Choir and is a lecture at St. Rita Church.
Although Ella prefers to spend her life on stage, her other activities
include soccer, basketball, track and swimming. Ella would like to thank
the directors for this incredible opportunity, her past directors for
believing in her, her family and friends for all their love and support,
and her Mom and Dad for supporting her love of music and the Arts. Break

Ron
Newell (Scenic Design - The King and I)
Ron's career in theatre started at the Halle Brothers’ Department
Store in the mid 50’s as a member of the Halle Players. For the
next 30 years Ron designed and executed the animated Christmas Windows
and worked on the Mr. Jingleling Show as director and writer. Ron’s
career includes theatre, acting, directing, designing; film, The Shawshank
Redemption, Houseguest, The Jesse Owens Story; television, The Miners
Story, ABC Movie of the Week, The West Wing, National and International
Commercials. Ron is a member of Actors Equity, Screen Actors Guild, American
Federation of Radio and Television Artist. At present, Ron is the Resident
Designer for the Clague Playhouse. Ron would like to thank Fred, and members
of the HBTI team for their support in making this set happen and come
to life. As always, all the above would not be possible without the love
and support of MPSQ.
Mark Oet (Lun Tha, Royal Singer
- The King and I) is a rising junior at Phillips
Exeter Academy, a boarding school in New Hampshire. His favorite roles
include the Bishop of Digne in Les Miserables: School Edition,
Issachar in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,
Jack in Into the Woods, Ugly in Honk
Jr. and understudy for Eddie, Richie and Simon in the original
and encore runs of Thirteen. Other favorites
include: Jojo in Seussical at Beachwood Community
Theater, Charlie Bucket in Willy Wonka at Chagrin

Rebecca Oet (Princess, Royal Singer
- The King and I) is in 5th grade at the Orchard
Middle School in Solon and is excited to be in her first HBTI production.
Rebecca enjoys reading fantasy books, singing in her school’s Ensemble
and Choir, playing with her toy poodle Luna, swimming, and taking pictures.
Rebecca has been in many shows, including two seasons of The
Christmas Carol at the Great Lakes Theater Festival, Peter
Pan, Princess Snow White, Pinocchio
and The Wizard of Oz at the Beachwood Community
Theater, Tales from the Pantheon at the Solon
Center for the Arts and Jesus Christ Superstar in Concert
at Mercury Summer Stock. Rebecca wants to thank her older brothers, Jacob
and Mark, for introducing her to theater, Fred for believing in her, and
her parents for their love and all the driving.
River Grace Reynolds (Attendant,
Royal Player - The King and I) is excited to
spend part of her summer singing, dancing and acting with HBTI. Previously,
she has performed at Hathaway Brown as the little girl in Once
on This Island. She has also appeared as a Munchkin in The
Wizard of Oz with the Beachwood Community Theater. During
her free time, she enjoys playing piano, guitar and percussion, composing
music, drawing, reading, swimming, tennis and skiing.
Bob Russell (Director - Jekyll
& Hyde) is a professional actor, director, and educator.
Mr. Russell is an adjunct faculty member with Kent State University's
Department of Theatre & Dance. He has also previously taught with
Ashland University, Allegheny College and the Fairmount Performing Arts
Conservatory. This summer, he will be a Master Faculty member for the
Hathaway Brown Theatre Institute's inaugural year and he will also be
directing Jekyll & Hyde. Additionally, Mr.
Russell is a proud member of Actor's Equity Association. He has acted
and directed regionally in the Northeastern Ohio and Northwestern Pennsylvania
areas. Some of his previous acting credits include: My Fair
Lady (Henry Higgins), Sweeney Todd
(The Beadle), Twelfth Night (Malvolio), Peter
Pan (Mr. Darling/Captain Hook), Oliver!
(Bill Sykes), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream
(Nick Bottom). Previously Mr. Russell has directed the revivals of No
Mother to Guide and Bunco in Arizona;
turn of the century melodramas, as well as productions of Comfort
Me with Peaches (world premiere), My Fair Lady,
Dead Man's Cell Phone and Nightfall with Edgar
Allan Poe.
Leah Saltzer (Lucy Harris - Jekyll
& Hyde) is thrilled to join HBTI in their inaugural
season. Favorite credits include Hope Cladwell in Urinetown,
Marian the Librarian in The Music Man and a
Factory Girl in Les Miserables at Fairmount
Performing Arts Conservatory; Liesel von Trapp in The Sound
of Music at TrueNorth Cultural Arts; Silly Girl/Napkin in
Disney's Beauty and the Beast at Heights Youth
Theater; Sour Kangaroo in Seussical the Musical
at Stagecrafters; and Lucinda in Into the Woods
at The Beck Center for the Arts. She also performed as Molly in the Ohio
Premiere of 13 the Musical at FPAC. Leah will
be a junior at Solon High School, where she plays tuba and is a member
of the show choir and drama club. Many thanks to the cast, crew, voice
teacher Joan, Mom, Dad, and twin sister Sara. Enjoy the show!
Hannah Schmidt (Attendant, Royal
player - The King and I) Hannah is 12 years
old and will be entering seventh grade at Hathaway Brown. She is very
excited to be in The King and I with HBTI. Some
of her recent roles in other shows have been Rosie in Bye
Bye Birdie with University School, an undercurrent in The
Little Mermaid with Stagecrafters, and Wendy in Peter
Pan with the Fairmont Center for the Arts. She takes voice
lessons at the Aurora School of Music and piano lessons at the Cleveland
Institute of Music. She also enjoys playing soccer, reading, and writing
poems. She would like to thank her family and friends for supporting her
and giving her the opportunity to spend her summer with HBTI!
Brandon Schumacker (Louis Leonowens
- The King and I) is ecstatic to be working
with Fred and others in his first show on the East side! He is soon to
be a freshman at Rocky River High School. Recent credits include: The
Newcomer in Avenue Q and Charlie Bucket in Willy
Wonka at The Beck Center, along with Evan in 13
the Musical and Colin in The Secret Garden
at TrueNorth. Last summer, he had a chance to travel to the World Choir
Games in Cincinnati, OH and won a Silver Award with the Singing Angels,
which he has performed with at Playhouse Square Center and across Northeast
OH for 6 years. Other favorite credits include: Dodger in Oliver!,
Kurt Von Trapp in The Sound of Music, and Star-to-Be
in Annie with Mighty Goliath Productions, as
well as The Cat in Honk Jr., and Jojo in Seussical
at Olde Towne Hall Theatre. Brandon has won awards for two consecutive
years at Octa Jr.; Excellence in Musical Theater for his role as The Cat
in Honk Jr., and a Merit in Acting for his
role as Jojo in Seussical. Upcoming Brandon
can be seen as Conrad Birdie in Bye Bye Birdie
at The Beck Center (May), Baby Bear in Shrek the Musical
(June), and Evan Goldman in 13 the Musical (July)
both at Mercury Summer Stock. He would like to thank his friends and family
for always supporting him and wishes the best of luck to all the cast
and crew.
Kailee Shaver (Princess Ying Yaowalak
- The King and I) is 11 years old and very excited
to be cast in The King and I. She has a passion
for singing and has been performing since she was 6 years old. Kailee
is presently in Anne of Green Gables at Magnificat
High School. Other roles played at Magnificat High School include Nibs
in Peter Pan and Pearl in The Scarlet
Letter. Kailee had the pleasure of working with Fred Sternfeld
this past winter as a Blind Girl in The Miracle Worker
at TrueNorth Cultural Arts. Kailee’s favorite roles include Death
in Everyman at CSU and Baby June in Gypsy
at Cassidy Theater. Kailee has enjoyed many productions at the Beck Center
including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,
Jemima in Cats, Suessical the Musical,
Cinderella, and The Wizard of Oz.
Other performances include: Cricket in Mulan
and Roquefort in Aristocats at Olmsted Performing
Arts; Molly in Annie and an orphan in Oliver
at Mighty Goliath Productions. Kailee dedicates her time and talent to
many charitable causes and sings the National Anthem at many fundraisers
such as Relay for Life, Emily Rainbow Run, North Coast Challenge, and
school events. Kailee sings at many sporting events including the Cavs,
Monster Jam, Lake Erie Crushers, & Cleveland Indians. She will be
singing the National Anthem for the third straight year at the Cleveland
Indians game May 4th. In her free time she participates in gymnastics,
dance, church and school choirs. Kailee cannot wait to work with Fred
Sternfeld and the talented cast.
Jerry Shepherd
(The King - The
King and I, Simon Stride -
Jekyll
& Hyde) attends
Notre Dame - Cathedral Latin and will be a senior in the fall. He is very
honored and excited to take part in HBTI's first productions. Recent credits
include Indio in West Side Story, Officer Lockstock
in Urinetown, Seaweed J. Stubbs in Hairspray,
and Olin Brit in The Music Man. Jerry would
like to thank his family and friends for their continued support. He wishes

Elaine Siegel (Music Director -
The King and I) brings a rich background in
the performing and visual arts to the Hathaway Brown Theatre Institute
as a music director for theatre productions, choral director in private
schools, vocal coach, performer, producer, and award-winning photographer.
As a music director, vocal coach, pianist/conductor Elaine's projects
have included Godspell, Anything Goes, Sweet Charity, Gypsy,
Oliver, Little Mary Sunshine, a Sondheim Review,
some of which took place at Canada's Manatou-Wabing Arts Centre with talented
high school students from the US and Canada; Purlie
at Cleveland's Karamu Theatre; Funny Girl, Fiddler on the
Roof, Children of Eden, The Sound of Music with the BHBE
Players in Philadelphia; for UNICEF, Elaine coordinated and music directed
a professional children's group that opened a game at New York's Shea
Stadium representing the World Summit for Children and for Stevie Wonder's
performance at the Children's Outdoor Forum. Elaine's
choral music directorships in New York City are highlighted by United
Nations International School, Brooklyn Friends School and, at The Dalton
School, Elaine designed a music theatre course with a fully staged original
performance piece called The Audition. Elaine's Training has included
the Dalcroze School of Music in NYC; Indian music at the Ali Akbar College
of Music in Northern California; Arts administration at Brooklyn College;
Vocal music programs at Cleveland Institute of Music and the Music School
(Bachelor of Music) at Ohio State University; Conducting workshops at
the North American Jewish Choral Festival; Music Education post graduate
work (Music Education Certification) at Cleveland State University. Elaine
is very much looking forward to working with Fred Sternfeld and Bebe Weinberg
Katz at the Hathaway Brown Theatre Institute. Go

Mary Sikorovsky (Princess/Royal
Singer - The King and I) is 13 years old and
will be entering the 8th grade at Gesu Catholic School. She is very excited
to be participating in HBTI's production of The King and I.
Previously, she appeared as an Elephant in Disney's Junglebook,
Girl of Miss Minchin in Ohio's Premiere of A Little Princess,
and as a Musician/Slave in The King and I, all
Heights Youth Theatre Productions. When Mary is not on stage she enjoys
playing volleyball and hanging out with we friends. Mary has been performing
in small school shows since she was in kindergarten at Gesu. Mary would
like to thank her family and friends for all their support.
Fred Sternfeld
(Director - The King and I) is pleased to work
with the outstanding young people of the region at HBTI! Recent credits

Brian Tuohey (Prince, Buddha -
The King and I) will be entering the 6th grade
at St.Clare School in Lyndhurst. He is very excited to take part in HBTI's
summer production of The King and I. He recently
played one of King Louie's monkeys in Jungle Book
with Heights Youth Theatre. Additional HYT shows include Once
on this Island, Joseph and the Amazing Techncolor Dream Coat
as part of the children's chorus and a ninja mouse in The
Wiz. Brian's favorite role was a city kid in The
Music Man with FPAC. Brian sings in the school choir and
plays the saxophone. He attends theatre camp in the summer and enjoys
basketball, cross country, track and swim team. Brian would like to thank
both Fred and Bebe for their encouragement and support.
Ava Julia Valley (Royal Wife and
Royal Dancer - The King and I, Red Rat Pub Dancer
& Ensemble - Jekyll & Hyde) is excited
be an inaugural cast member of the Hathaway Brown Theatre Institute and
honored to work with acclaimed and award winning directors Fred Sternfeld
and Bob Russell, and the other cast members of The King and
I and Jekyll & Hyde. Over
the last 7 years, Ava Julia has many roles in 18 theatrical productions
portraying a wide range of characters, singing, and dancing. As freshman
at Aurora High School, she was part of the ensemble for Aurora Community
Theatre (ACT), Where Are You Christmas? At Harmon
Middle School, she was a soloist at Farewell to Harmon;
Mercy in the Mirror Image; Girl Scout and Reporter
in Nonsense in the North Woods;
and Citizen One in Oz!. During those summers,
her roles included a Dodo Bird in Alice in Wonderland
at the ACT Children's Summer Workshop; Intelligensiac from The
World on a String at Hawthorn Youth Theatre; Pig Three in
The Big Bad Musical at the ACT Children's Summer
Workshop; and a Bird Girl in Letters From Kortedala
at Hawthorn Youth Theatre. Ava Julia also performed roles of Vi and Casey
in Grease with Patti Schaefer's Performing Arts
and Animanic in Drama, Drama, Drama at Harmon
Middle School Drama Club Productions. She was the wife in It
is Easy Being Green at ACT Children's Summer Workshop. For
Hawthorn Youth Theatre, her roles also included Euterpe in A
Play on Words; Peanut Gang Member in A Charlie
Brown Christmas; A Wild Thing and Mermaid in Wild
Things; Passenger in Polar Express;
First Twin in Peter Pan; and Soloist in The
Night Before Christmas. Ava Julia hopes to minor in Musical

Marley Vidmar (Princess, Little
Eva - The King and I) is 12 and is in seventh
grade at Chagrin Falls Middle School. She is thrilled to take part in
The King and I and work with the production
staff. She has been in many shows including, The Wizard of
Oz National Tour at Playhouse Square where she was a munchkin,
as well two shows at her school directed by Pat Haynish. She was Jasmine’s
Attendant in Aladdin, a Mersister in The
Little Mermaid and a few shows at The Little Theater when
she was younger. For the past two summers she has attended Stagecrafters
camp and was in two productions there. She was a featured dancer in The
Wiz, and the Magic Carpet in Aladdin.
She is also in two choirs currently (Middle School Select Choir and FORTE
at Federated Church) and she was in Intermediate School Select Choir.
She is a dancer as well. She has taken ballet for 8 years at En Pointe
Danse studio and has taken hip-hop for one year and this is her first
year of jazz at Dance Studio M. She also performed in the Moscow Nutcracker
Ballet for two years in a row where she played a Party Guest and an Angel.
She recently went on Pointe and is looking forward to advancing in that.
This summer she will be attending Baldwin Wallace’s Music Theater
Camp as well as Hathaway Brown Theatre Institute and in the fall she will
appear in her school play once again. She would like to thank Fred for
this amazing opportunity to perform with him, and Pat Haynish for giving
her so many opportunities. Her family supports her and plays a huge role
in all that she does. The most important person she would like to thank
though is her mom, for being so supportive of everything she does and
driving her everywhere from auditions, to rehearsals, to performances.
Abby White (Royal Wife/Royal Singer
– The King and I) will enter 11th grade
at Shaker Heights High School in the fall. Her previous roles include
Oompa Loompa #2 in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
and the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland,
both at Woodbury School; Puck in A Midsummer Night’s
Dream at Shaker Heights Middle School, as well as a Lady-in-Waiting
in Once Upon a Mattress; and Chorus/Second Editor
in Wonderful Town at Shaker Heights High School.
In the little free time Abby has outside of schoolwork, she enjoys writing,
reading and singing. Abby would like to thank her parents and friends
for always supporting her, and everyone at HBTI for a great first production!
Morgan Faith Williams (Princess
Ying Yaowalak/Royal Singer - The King and I)
is thrilled to be working with Fred Sternfeld again and for the first
time at HBTI! She is 12 years old and has been enjoying the stage since
she was 3 years old. She frequents the stage at TrueNorth Cultural Arts
and is currently performing as Stanley's sister April in The
Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley. Additional credits at
TrueNorth include Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker,
Brigitta Von Trapp in The Sound of Music, Jr.
Idol, Solo and Dance in Music Under the Stars,
Lumiere in Disney's Beauty and The Beast, The Secret Garden,
A Year with Frog and Toad, and Susan Walker in Miracle
on 34th Street. She also has had many wonderful experiences
at The Beck Center for the Arts and has been seen in Cats,
Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Willy Wonka, Seussical the
Musical, Cinderella, as well as ballet and jazz performances
through the dance department. Other credits include Jesus
Christ Superstar at Mercury Summer Stock, Oliver in Oliver
and Annie at Mighty Goliath Productions and
Mulan, Seussical Jr. and Aristocats
at Olmsted Performing Arts. She has also enjoyed performing at the Cleveland
Metro Parks Zoo, Singing the National Anthem as a soloist, and singing
in her school choir and talent shows. During her free time she enjoys
tumbling, cheerleading, drawing, writing songs and socializing. Morgan
would like to thank her family and friends for their endless support!
