Alan, A NYC workaholic TV writer, gets lured to his parents’ condo in Florida for the Passover Seder. He finds both a solution for his writer’s block, a new potential romance, and a fresh understanding of his family and of his Jewish identity in this gentle family comedy by Judy Klass. The Dorothy Silver Playwriting Competition has been identifying promising plays with Jewish content for more than 25 years. Submissions come from all over the world, drawn by the opportunity for a staged reading and possible production. The competition is designed to encourage new plays that provide significant, fresh perspectives on the range of Jewish experience. Original works, not previously produced, suitable for full-length presentation, and directly concerned with the Jewish experience are eligible.
